Our first big community service event is here!
WHAT: Rails to Trails – A local non-profit organization that is converting an old railroad track into community walking trails.
WHEN: 0800 – 1200 on Saturday, September 30th
WHERE: FCPS bus transportation to East West Park, 1115 Prospect RD, Mt. Airy, MD
MEET: Please meet at the GTJHS NJROTC courtyard doors near the tennis court (Park in auxillary gym parking area)
HOW DO I SIGN UP? Click the link below to register online through the Google form. (Please note that there is a separate waiver that needs to be completed on that website)
Community service hours are a requirement to return to the program. Your active participation is a factor in selecting eligible cadets for our big orientation trip to San Diego next year, so please consider joining us. We only have room on the bus for 40 cadets. Please don’t wait to register.

DATE / TIME: Thursday, April 13th, 7:30 am – Saturday, April 15th, 10:00 pm
LOCATION: State Military Reservation, Camp Pendleton, 203 Red Horse Dr, Virginia Beach, VA 23451
DETAILS: We are pleased to announce our 2023 unit trip to Virginia Beach. Open to ALL cadets, we will travel in a luxury coach, and stay in military barracks aboard Camp Pendleton. These orientation trips are designed to show you different parts of the country, and the people, equipment, and facilities of our armed forces. During our stay, we will visit 4 military instillations, various units, ships, and helicopter/aviation squadrons. On our way home, we will stop at the Bush Gardens Amusement Park in Williamsburg, Virginia.
PRICE: $200 (Includes transportation, lodging, meals at Navy dining facilities, and your entrance fee to Bush Gardens. Does not include dinner at the amusement park, snacks, and souvenirs)

DEADLINES: Complete this registration form by Monday, April 3rd. Payment must be received by Wednesday, April 5th.

We are pleased to announce our next unit field trip, a 10-mile hike along the Appalachian trail. We will begin in Harpers Ferry, WV, and end at Gaithland State Park. When we arrive, our parent boosters will be providing a free lunch.
